U.S. Trade Representative: Exemption from Tariffs on the European Union and Six Other Countries for Steel and Aluminum

According to a report from AFP on March 22, a senior official in charge of U.S. trade said that the EU and six other countries will be "temporarily" exempted from the severe import tariffs on steel and aluminum that have been introduced by Trump.

U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lettzeze told a Senate committee that, while discussing the search for more permanent solutions, Trump has authorized the “suspension” of tariffs on these countries.

Wright Zezer stated that Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Mexico and South Korea will also be exempted.

So far, there is no news of Japan being exempted.
