Appliance industry: In the home appliance industry, stainless steel consumption is large in automatic washing machine inner tube, water heater liner, microwave oven outer shell, refrigerator liner, and more ferritic stainless steel. The proportion of household stainless steel in Western Europe is larger, and Asia is generally less used except Japan, which is close to European levels. In 1999, consumption of ferrite and martensitic stainless steel in the household electrical appliances industry in Japan reached 28%, and austenitic steel accounted for 12%. China's microwave ovens, refrigerators, air conditioners, and televisions are already competitive export products in the world, and the domestic appliance industry is a potential big market for stainless steel applications. It is estimated that in the next 5-10 years, the demand for stainless steel in the household appliance industry in China will reach 100,000 to 150,000 tons.
